COMPANY PROFILE
The water system of Bangued was originally constructed in 1919 by the Bureau of Public Works and managed by the municipal government. The original system includes the spring impoundment and an intake box, a 440 cu. m. ground storage tank located atop the Casamata Hill and a combination of 200 mm and 150 mm CCI transmission line which extends from the intake box to the storage tank. The distribution system was also constructed in the same year to serve the poblacion of Bangued.

The Bangued Water District was formed on December 29, 1975 by virtue of Resolution No. 293 passed by the municipal council of Bangued. With its formation, the BWD acquired the ownership and management of the entire water system from the municipal government. On August 24, 1976 LWUA issued the Conditional Certificate of Conformance (CCC) No. 028 to BWD.
